live wild BALD EAGLE NESTCAM!

That’s the link.

This live videofeed of a wild bald eagles’ nest is actually only a few miles from my home. I have seen the nest in person and it is really fun to watch! I think it is the father sitting on the nest now, and there are two eggs, but we are expecting a third today!

Last year this pair of eagles successfully fledged three eaglets, who I saw hanging around the nest the other day before the eggs were laid.

The gestation period is about 35 days. I think we are on day #4 or #5.

Here is a screenshot of the webcam from just a few minutes ago:

And one from a couple days ago showing the eggs!

On the webcam there are three choices for video feed quality - so if you are worried about streaming the video, picking a lower quality could speed things up.

Enjoy!

where about in Iowa is this? I’ve seen a few up here in N.W., of the state going to Sioux Falls last year. That is a great video, really beautiful birds to see.

Very nice; thanks for the link.

This is in the Quad Cities, IA - the “East Coast” of Iowa right on the Mississippi River. Bettendorf and Davenport are the two cities that make up the Iowa side of the QC.

I just watched a sitting eagle on full screen. That was cool.
Thank you Karli-Rae.

Cool !!!

I watched all last year but I’m thinking it was in NE Iowa?

You might check out this site. A whole slew of nest cams for a variety of different worldwide birds, including a list of bald eagle nest cams. Not complete, I know of a couple others around, but this should keep you occupied.

Great video cam on a wonderful moment of nature. Thank you for sharing.

I looked at the eaglecam last night and was surprised at how much light was present but I did not notice all the snow in the nest. I guess this part of Iowa got hit with the snow storm last night.

I have been watching the Eagle cam daily and today there is a fish in the nest. I wish I could have seen the server.

The Eaglets have hatched and the mom was feeding them this morning small pieces of the fish.

I just found out this weekend, that there is a nest right around the corner from my house here in central Mississippi. I rode by yesterday on my bike and you could see a white head in the top of the nest. Will be interesting to check in on it over the next couple of months. If there is a male and female, I’m feel pretty sure there are eggs.
