Was just reading the thread about Zap-A-Gap line to leader connection. Would anyone care to elaborate on how this is done?
Many thanks

dick, this is right from whitlocks book. if he sues i’m blaming you:
insert the eye of a size 8 0r 9 crewel or darning needle into the fly line tip’s core
push the needle half an inch up inside the fly line core, then out the side of the coating
insert an inch of knotless leader tip (whose butt end has been straightened) through the needle eye
now pull needle and leader tip out of the fly line tip
remove needle and pull knotless leader through fly line tip until only three of four inches of butt remain outside of the needle hole
use 50-grit sand paper to roughen up a half inch section of the leader’s butt section next to the fly line tip
place a small drop of zap a gap on the roughed section and spread the glue evenly over it with the nozzle of the bottle
now quickly grip the exposed leader butt end with pliers or forceps and, holding the fly line tip with a firm grip, give a quick, short pull on the leader butt end to pull the roughed section just inside of the fly line
phew
