Brought several nice gills and a crappie home from the shallows. Last week it was cats in the rain and swollen river, but today spring really got a nudge. JGW

ya…it seems that im gonna have to use more
dry flies now!! seems like since its warming up
there getting ready to bed dem gills are. so im ready
for a good day of fishing in about 2 weeks 
Five really nice crappies on MoTURKee’s fly, and several bluegill on three or four other flies. Great weekend of warmwater fishing. I don’t remember dying but heaven ain’t so bad. JGW
The crappie are in the shallows here. I caught several today in 1-2 ft of water right next to the bank. I also caught a few bluegills and largemouth bass.
