Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has used a six weight forward in this type of line. How does it cast, etc.

I have it in a 7 wt. and like it very much for shad fishing. It roll casts well and handles as well or better than anything else I use. Good Luck, Jim
Great line, especially in the 6wt.
Yep, great line! I have several sizes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 WFF and a couple of Int in 8 & 9.
Like the others above, I own several, from a 2/3 up through an 8/9. They are at their best on my bamboo rods.
It is all I use!!

i have the Triangle Taper in 3 wt and 5 wt. after cutting off the first 3-4 feet from the tip, it is undoubtedly the best casting, mending, and roll-casting line iver ever used.
Why did you cut the 4 feet off the line?

I have one on my three weight and I too have thought about cutting a few feet off so it will load the rod a little better at short distances. Overall I am pleased with the TT.
I have the 5wt TT. I had a TFO TiCr 9ft 5wt and someone recommended giving the line a try, and since I had heard a lot of good feeback I thought…why not.
Well…I hated the line, just didn’t load the rod well. I thought maybe the line was better suited for slower rods.
When I recently bought my Sage SLT 5wt I almost dropped $60 on a new line. But I still had the Wulff TT line so I decided to give a try. It’s a good thing I did because the Wulff TT on that rod casts like a dream. Not to mention the SLT is AWESOME!!!

I know it just pains so many of you to check out Product Reviews on FAOL, but this one is so relevant to this discussion on cutting off part of the line. The FAOL review of the Wulff TT lines persuaded me to get one this spring. Haven’t used it yet, but the review and the posted comments make me glad I chose the Wulff.
By the way I e-mailed them about what line dressings they recommend. Got a response within half a day!( much quicker than some other companies I’ve tried ).

bluenose,
What did they recommend? The first 5 wt TT line I got always seemed to stay dirty (I wasn’t as diligent as cleaning it as I am with the new 5 wt TT line)… I use Loon Line Speed, but am curious what they said to use.
Hextall:
The recommended cleaners were Wulff, Glide ( an Umpqua product, I think ), and Scientific Anglers.
