(3:30PM Pacific Daylight Time)
I just spoke with HarleyBob in Portland, to see how his son, Robert, was getting along as well as how well Bob, himself and his bride were “holding up”.
Bob gave me some fantastic news, especially when compared to yesterday’s outlook for his son’s “after surgery condition”.
As I’d posted, in my other “update” after Robert’s surgery, he was scheduled to spend 3-5 days in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, following his surgery.
However, as Bob informed me today… "Robert has responded SO WELL, to after surgery treatments, his blood clotting has been reduced and along with the fight and determination he’s shown his doctors, they have changed his course of after surgery treatment and are moving our son OUT of the ICU and into his own, private, room TOMORROW already"!
If all keeps going the way it has, so far, Robert will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday the 20th and then be allowed to return home, to Idaho, on the 27th. Obviously, this is great news for those involved!!
Bob cannot say, (his words-quote), “What all the prayers and well wishes and thoughts, directed my family’s way, by the members of my FAOL family, how much it all means to me, my son and his mother”.(end quote)
I’m sure, when he returns home and things become more “settled”, Bob will want to thank all of his FAOL family, in his won words.
I’ll be seeing Bob, again next week I hope. (It’s HIS TURN to by the coffee and pie, after all!?!), and will talk to him, on the phone again, before that time. I’ll post any and all, updates on his son’s progress when I do.
Wow. Praise God. I’m so happy we were all able to use the internet and FAOL to join voices together in prayer from all over the country and maybe all over the world. I’m even happier that God seems to have been listening to us. I’ve always thought He has a soft spot in His heart for fishermen.
Terrific! Thank you for the update. So wonderful for Bob and family. It is so refreshing to hear such great fortune instead of all the tradegies and bad things going on in the world.
What a far reaching affect. You’re update has boosted MY spirits today. Been feeling a little down lately.
This not about me. Just…sometimes people never know the impact their experiences have had on others. Who knows how many other people feel uplifted after reading this update? It sure made me feel good.
I’m going to pray for his complete recovery and healing with no setbacks.
One of the hardest things I have had to do since joining FAOL was to go on line the morning of the surgery to check on Young Roberts condition. The information Paul relayed to us all has lifted a huge load off.
Along with my prayers for Harleybob and his family I added a special thanks for ST Paul the confused one. It is not easy being the messenger in times like these and I for one am glad He is one of us.
