Made it out for a couple hours on Friday; aside from one decent catfish (about 14" or so and way too ugly for a photo) this fella was my only catch. Based on the pose, and if you squint your eyes almost shut, you could maybe sorta pretend it’s a brookie…or not

Well, you did better than I did this weekend. I made it out for a couple hours, hit 2 local public ponds hoping for some nice bass. Had a few strikes on topwater, mostly from smaller bass…y’know the ones that take the big popper down and shake it and swim around with it without getting hooked? Also had a couple strikes from bigger bass, but never managed to hooke/land any of them. I don’t get skunked very often…but I did this weekend. And the conditions seemed good…cloudy with a bit of a breeze.
