Larimer Golden Stone SBS

Here you go, duckster. Not much intel on this fly besides some pics; if I’m getting it wrong folks, please let me know.

hook - Mustad 9672 #8
thread - UTC 140 tan
butt/underbody - 2mm foam tan
feelers/legs - Sexi-floss gold
rib - x-fine wire gold
body - dubbing cinnamon rabbit
hackle - dark ginger
underwing - elk
wing - calf tail hot orange
head - dubbing rust/orange
overhead - 2mm foam tan over orange

Part 1

mash barb, wrap shank with thread to give it some tooth

tie in tan foam (gap width) at point above barb; brush a little Super Glue on shank and bind down to eye

tie in orange foam (a little bit wider than tan) at head

move thread back, fold foam butt and tie down

tie in feelers on either side of butt

tie in rib

Part 2

dub thread, dub body

tie in hackle, wrap back to butt

capture tip of hackle with rib, then wrap through to front; tie off, trim hackle on top

clean, stack, measure (not quite gap width past bend) a sparse clump of elk; tie in, trim butts

repeat with calf tail

Part 3

dub thread; dub head, eye to wing tie-in

pull orange foam back, tie down

repeat with tan

tie in legs

half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim legs, feelers, foam; trim hackle underneath
