I have the Konic 4 that I use for my two-handed rod. Fit and finish are excellent. The drag is super smooth. It is basically maintence free. Just rinse it off a few times a year.
thanks for the info. im sure your not the only person on here that has this reel though.

Konic for me all the way.
First time out of box, taking it out of the bag, DROPPED it from waist high onto concrete…ARRRRGGGGHHHH.
NOT A SCRATCH.
One full week of rock hopping in the Smoky Mountains Freestone Streams…not a scratch, ding, mark, or otherwise.
Not sure what that coating is all about, but it ROCKS!
Light, Tough, and pretty cool esthetic design…gonna get another soon.
Dollars in, quality out, it might be one of the best reels you’ll ever lay your hands on. My wife and I have one we really enjoy.
While I don’t own one, I do have a couple of their reels and really enjoy the drag system that is the same on their reels. The people that I know that own one are very pleased. While that being the case, there are still some fantastic deals going on the closed out Radius line. These are machined vs. cast formed frames and the price is less than the new cast formed reels. While the Konics are a great buy, I think that I would personally buy a closed out Lamson Radius here: on second thought, I will pm you with the place since they only have a limited number of close outs available.
Excellent reel value. I have had two and only sold them to upgrade. Not the most handsome reel, but finnish and function are phenominal. I will second the very tough coating. They hold quite a bit of backing for a large arbor reel. Very smooth and have a nice, mild clicker. Same great drag as allother lamsons. I do not believe they are made in US like the higher end Lamsons/Waterworks reels. What rod are you thinking of mounting this reel on? I had a #2 and it balanced well on a rather heavy (by today’s standards) Legend Ultra 9’ 6wt.
