A duck-quill Adams variation. Tie the wings point up or down based on your personal preference.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #14
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - hackle fibers dun
abdomen - hare’s ear dubbing
wing - mallard wing quill
hackle - grizzly/brown

Part 1

Mash down barb, wrap thread back to point above barb and make a little bump

measure a clump of hackle fibers (shank length); tie in tight to bump to create proper splay/angle, trim butts

dub thread, dub body to 70% mark

clip out segments (2/3 gap width) from a matching pair of mallard wing quills, tips curving away from each other

Part 2

measure wings for length (hook bend), tie in with 2 soft loops , then a few firmer wraps; trim butts, cover with thread

tie in hackle

wrap hackle, tie off, trim, half hitch x 2, SHHAN

Great fast water pattern. I use it a lot. More durable than most of the other quill wing caddis.
