abdomen - Krystal Flash black
wing - Midge Flash pearl
thorax - peacock herl
post - 2mm foam white
mash barb, start thread, tie in KF and wrap to bend
wrap KF to point above point; tie off/trim
tie in 2mm x 2mm strip of foam; trim butt
double over a strand of Midge Flash; tie in, double over again and tie back to butt of foam
tie in peacock
wrap thorax; tie off/trim
half hitch x 2, SHHAN, trim wing, trim post

These look great! I did a few myself, also size 18. My “black” Krystal Flash is Black/Peacock, and my Midge Flash is UV Pearl, so there are some slight color differences. Sorry about the bad focus. My camera insisted on focusing on a spot just to the left of the flies. Took the pic outside, in shade. I prefer natural light, but since we got 1/2" of snow overnight, there’s more light being reflected around than usual. It doesn’t help that is was blowing wind and about 13 degrees above 0 not counting wind chill. I need to see about setting up an indoor photo lab now that I have my tying desk set up.
