I like it as an orange.
depends though on the effect yer after.
orange dyed grizz is potent indeed.
Yup, that orange looks real good to me. Wouldn’t change a thing.
Chris, dude, it’s PERFECT! Just what I was looking for!
Great job!
I’ve never heard of this…Does dying feathers using kool-aid work well? I mean, is the dye water soluble, or is it permanent?
FishnDave,
I often use Koolaid for dyeing. In fact, I was just about to find the ‘Orange’ to dye some Aussie Possum for tying Ausable Wulffs.
Here, Try this for the dyeing information:

Deezel
Hey deezel i went on the website the directions seemed pritty easy to follow just one question. It was talkin about dying yarn and i was wondering if the same method would work for hackle feathers and which method produces the best resluts.
This could save me some money not having to go out and buy different hackle
trout killer,
These hackles were dyed usinge 1 package of orange kool aid, 1 cup of vinagar, and 3 cups of water. the mixture was heated in the microwave, in a ziplock bag until it was very warm, then the hackles were placed in the bag. the bag lets you stir the hackles around in the mixture so that the color is distributed evenly. when the hackles have absorbed all the color the mixture will turn milky. hackles can be died without bleaching, hair should be bleached(this is done using peroxide and ammonia from the beauty supply store) first to make it more receptive to color.
thx for the help i am planing on trying it tommorow after i go to the creek
