Many times I have seen hopper patterns that had a lot of steps to them. The Klod Hopper isn’t complicated and it looks good. The main thing is the foam body will keep it floating.
This means this fly can be fished in any kind of rough water. Color shades can also be changed.
Nice fly and it is a TYERS fly not a artists fly.

Agreed. Exactly the reasons I brought that one. Fast, easy (a guy might actually tie up some), and looks like it will hold up well.
Yea a brown bodied version with black foam, hackle and wing would make an EXCELLENT cricket!
In regards to durability; my experience with any foam bodied flies is similar to John Cameron Swayze’s opinion of Timex Watches.
I’ll be whipping up a few dozen this winter!
I agree that this looks like a good producing fly. I tied up a few of them tonight, and they are a quick and easy tie. I’m thinking about a few minor color variations to match some of the local hoppers. Can’t wait to try them out on the local streams this season.
