Kayak outriggers

Hey all,

Thought I’d share a look at my ouriggers. I’ve been planning
these for about 3 weeks now, after T.J. (my 14 yr. old) dumped over.

I haven’t used them yet, only finished them last night and had to work all day. I’m sure they’ll work pretty well.

There’s almost nothin’ wrong with the first lie, it’s the weight of all the others holdin’ it up that gets ya’! - Tim

Hope they work well, can’t wait for the update… 8)

 They look great! Those should work real well and they have got to be cheaper than the factory made ones.(they run about 150-200)

Looks great! I have thought about adding out-riggers to mine so I could stand up to fish, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Great job.

Well,

I got to try the outriggers today and they work great! I found hardly any wobble in the yak when getting in and out of it. When out on the water I realized I’ll have to add pins to the float bars because they wanted to ride on top of the outrigger. I just slid the float bars into the plastic “tee” fittings and never permanently affixed them. So, when in the water the floats spin above the bars.

As for stability on the water, they work perfectly. I could still rock the boat but I doubt the kids will ever flip it again!

Hey guys, if you haven’t found it yet check out the new Paddling board FAOL added with this change. You’ll probably find more good advice there --plus make Jim Hatch happy.
