I will be going to Kauai in August and want to try to get some fishing in. I will be staying on the southern side of the island. I cannot find any fly shops on the island through the internet. Has anyone fished from the shore? Does anybody know of any good patterns to tie? Good spots to try? I’ve never wadded in warm water so I’m hoping there is a chance for that. Any advice on leaders or tippet?

My family and I went there on '03 and LOVED it. We did fish but not fly fishing. Just big game fishing on chsrtered boats. Still alot ot fun.
I’m not sure how much help this is but I found this. Also we flew over a decent sized resivour/pond on a helicopter tour I’m not sure if its even fishable its just a body of water I saw. There are also rivers, again I didn’t fish them and I dont even know if you can, just an idea, I hope you have a great time.

Thanks for the response, I will look into these spots. They definitely slook like a possibility. I would really like to fish from the shore, so if anybody has any info, I would really appreciate it.
