Got a call Thursday that Byron Zuehlsdorff, and wife, would be in town this weekend to visit their daughter and son-in-law! We arranged to meet at Yagers Fly shop in Lawrence. I gotta tell you … it was like I’d known them for ever!! What lovely people they are! Had a ball in the fly shop, and his daughter got the fly rod she wanted for her birthday … infact, so did his son-in-law! Ronn and staff, put together a rod, reel, and line, for each … then took them outside, next to the store, and gave them casting lessons! It was great!
Hey Betty,
I missed my chance to meet with Byron on HIS home grounds in Rock Springs Wyo a coupla years ago on our way to Grand Teton NP. An unscheduled rescheduling caused us to have to be in Jackson a day earlier. Based on your post assessment of your meeting with him, it was definitely my loss. But there’s still time. We plan on our annual Wyo trip again this October after all the crowds have gone. Maybe we’ll hook up with him then.
From his posts, Byron is a class act & definitely on my “short list” of folks to meet when I get to his neck of the woods, or he gets to mine. Methinks he met some mgreat folks in the Hiners as well!

The door is open to you all, if I can’t get to do some fishing with you, maybe at least a cup of coffee on me.
Betty is a prime example of why I like this site so much. The folks at Yager’s were wonderful, and a great help with the kids. Charla found out that Rick is Chris’s husband, she knows chris from the city choir.
It feels good knowing they have some great connections there to help them learn the sport,
Oh yea, LadyFisher, You can allow CHAR to log on without my permission, she is old enough, mis 20s, to do it on her own. She marked the wrong box when she registered
Once again, Thanks to all in Lawrence for the help!!
P.S. I am in the book if you are comming this way, and visit this sight frequently, drop me a call or a pm!!
