It was a great time. Got to meet everyone and they were all very kind, except for the Sage casting analizer. That thing was not so friendly. I fished with LF and JC on Wed. and it was slow and Thurs. Les, Slic and I roped em’ on the Locsha. Dennis Conrad showed me his awesome products including a real cree skin. Can’t wait to tie with the saddle he gifted me before I left! What a guy. Everyone was great, I wish I could have stayed longer.
I caught these until my arm was sore. After I got the right fly and a twitching presentation I rose a fish every cast. I figured that if there was a quota I filled it and I quit fishing:

The Sage analyzer is a very interesting tool. I learned a few things from it and also it confirmed a few of the flaws I need to work on. I was glad to get a chance to try it.

Gotta agree, those were some fiesty cutts up there. We fished a lot on the Selway and had a blast, lots of fish and great company. Was really glad to meet you and Mark, along with Mark’s Dad. Quite a gentleman.

I agree totally Ben. It was a wonderful week of fellowship/placing faces to names/tying/fishing and catching and last but not least, eating! Oh ya, the analayzer was a good experience for me. ( I had planned on not trying it) Glad I did.
I so enjoy fishing and staying in the Lowell area I took it upon myself, talked with REE, VEE & Les Young who have all agreed to CO Host with myself a Regional Fish-In in 2006. Set things up with Three Rivers Lodge and we are penciled in for Sept 24 thru the 30th. We have the blessings of JC & LF so there will eventually be a page here on FAOL with a “I’m Going sign up page”. Keep your ears on and eyes open for this one. We have some interesting plans for this up coming FI in 2006. It will be one talked about for years to come!
I did manage to catch way more fish than an old man should be allowed. Special thanks for a size 20 black ant gifted to me by Terry. He and I had caught quite a few fish while fishing the same pool up on the Selway. But he was catching more and larger fish??? Saturday in the rain I went back to the same pool and fished the lil black ant. Results were 11 fish, mostly the larger ones like Terry was catching. Thanks Terry. Now I need to figure out what dubbing he used.
I will never be without one of these special little black ants and he tells me the red ones work well also. We will see.
