I’ve used my cordless drill as a rod turner a time or two it works if you get a milk jug and cut it so the drill sits upside down and cut the notches so the drill chuck is level. Then put tape on the trigger of the drill and set the slow speed. Only problem is you have to put the reel seat on last.
blktlhntr, welcome aboard! New blood means new ideas and we all love to share them here!! neat move on that plastic milk jug! I have seen drill motors used as lathes before for cork work but they were usually set up in some sort of wooden vice or clamp.
Ingenuity is the key when it comes to rod building, thats for sure
