It was 82 degrees here yesterday. The weeds on my
favorite waterway had grown to chest level. The sun
was beating down bright on me. The trout were not
very active. My friend Ted Kirkpatrick and I went for
4 hours. We each landed about 7.
I have lost 20 pounds…You sure could “NOT” tell it from this photo.
I wonder if I can grow a beard that would hide by entire face?

You don’t need to hide the entire face!! Just look happy … like you’ve been enjoying the chase!

I am a guide and I often take pictures of my clients with their fish. I’ve noticed that women and kids will smile. Men will not for some reason.
I always say just before I take their photo, “Are you ticked off you caught that fish?”
No kidding. I went duck hunting with a guy a few years ago, and he shot his first banded duck (a rare feat). This is the picture I took.
I’ve never seen anyone so pissed off at killing a banded duck.

When I was little…
My dad always asked why I was so happy when I caught a big trout.
He asked if I was satisfied ?
Asked if I expected to never catch a bigger one.
My Dad never smiled for hunting or fishing pictures.
He told me to save big smiles for HUGE trout and family members.
I guess I’ve always been of the mindset to enjoy every fish. No matter how big or how small. The smallest fish is always better than no fish.

I’m with Poke 'em on this issue. I smile like every fish is a world record. I think it makes me look like Santa because of my white beard. BTW, Spinner. a beard would definitely add character. 8T 
Already starting on the beard. I hate shaving.
I smile as I am landing the trout. I am usually in a hurry to get the fish
back in the water so the it is more of a concerned look.
Spinner1, if you cast like I do, facial fur has another benefit. So far I am pleased to report that the score is moustache is 1 to 0 vs a size 12 Royal Coachman assaulting my lip…
