Joe, Joe....

Oh how fast your forget the lessons that I try to teach you.

I thought I had it engrained into to you to always have a second rod with you.

Runnin’ & duckin’

Rick

Rick,

I know, I know… I’ve got it in my truck now, ready for use.

I went into the middle of that brush area Saturday morning and hung so many backcasts it was like fishing from the bank. But…I caught some nice crappies using one of your yellow fiber flies.

Joe

That is OK. I made up for you on Saturday. I had 5 fly rods in the canoe.

Rick

First, Rick, I always think about the third cause when I miss fish. Most of the time I’m too slow on the trigger .

Second, like Joe, I found out that not always but “most of the time” larger size flies usually get larger size Bluegill (educated Bluegill are another matter entirely). I use number 8s for Bluegill a little more than number 10s or smaller. Cuts down a little bit on the number of Bluegill I get that are runts. But like Roger said, you can’t pick what bites your fly .

Great articles fellas .
