Think this guy still has his job???

I keep wondering if it’s Julian from the Trailer Park Boy’s driving that truck. Now where’s the olives.

Whoever put up those warehouse racks should be in bigger trouble.

Seriously!

Although it’s not a laughing matter for the guy on the forklift, I’ve got to smile a bit when I think of all the close calls I’ve had, during my career, at doing something similar in the confined spaces in the aisles. It looks like this guys foot slipped, or the throttle stuck. Otherwise, the guy’s an idiot. The people who installed the racks, and those who loaded them are at least as resposible for the end result.

Now I don’t feel so bad about running over the expensive mouse trap on my first (and last) day running a fork lift.

Eric

Bad fork lift drivers are one of the most destructive forces on earth. In a former work life a client’s driver took out a building column resulting in roof collapse. Locally last year a driver started into a semi-trailer had just backed up to the dock when the truck driver realized he was at the wrong warehouse and pull away from the dock. It was fatal to the lift truck driver.

I got a ton of fork lift stories. The best one was when I was early in my working career and had a job pulling rose bushes for custom orders. The bushes werre stored in 4x4x4 wood totes stacked about 10 or 12 high and 10 or so stacks deep in a large cold storage wharehouse called “big windy”. Of course we sometimes would need to get a lift driver to pull the stacks out so we could get roses that were in a tote at the bottom of the inside most stack. Well, you guessed it, the lift driver bumped one of the stacks of totes and the domino affect took down about 6 of the stacks. There were rose bushes going everywhere. And shortly after the last tote hit the floor the lift driver was the only one left in big windy.

I must say I am impressed with how quickly the people in the video started working to get the lift driver free.
