Jimmy Buffet

Saw an interview with Jimmy Buffet and he was asked about his guitar playing. His response was “I don’t play as good as Clapton, but he can’t cast a fly rod as good as me.” Sounds like he got his priorities straight!

Yeah. Guess he’s had more practice in the Keys than in Mobile .

Dixie,

I would imagine that Jimmy is fishing places and resorts that you and I couldn’t even think about casting a line in. Fame and wealth open a lot of fishing opportunities. 8T

You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.

It doesn’t hurt that his wife is from Livingston MT. Duh.

The only guy I know that was so exited at catching a striper that he turned a flip…in his air plane.

Jimmy Buffet must be a pretty good caster, as I remember, Clapton has been a fly fisher for many years.

Nor does it hurt that he lived in Aspen for half the year in the '80’s. That’s where I met him and didn’t recognize him.

Clapton may be a good guitarist and a fine fisherman, but the man is a clumsy oaf. He trod on my foot in a fly shop run by Peter Cockwill in Surrey, last year. I think he was trying to shoulder me out of the way of some nymphs he was interested in. I may have bought a few of his albums over the years; but there was not way I was going to let him get first dibs on some nice flies.

I thought the least he could offer me was a days fishing somewhere exclusive by means of compensation.

Well, JME, sounds to me like you have a good law suit there! Didn’t Clapton break your foot when he stepped on it? C’mon, man, think like and American!

Buffet is playing in Tampa tomorrow night! Man I wish I could go!
Bill

Hey hey good lookin… Love that Buffet

My wife just got back from Florida and went to a Buffet show in Fort Lauderdale and Jacksonville. She was able to buy scalper tickets for $30 at each show. She loved it and loves Jimmy Buffet. Dave

Sue “god” ???
Your’e both going to h,e,double hockey sticks.

Hey, i’m sure ‘god’ can spare a few bucks!

Clapton must like bamboo since they call him Slowhand.

If Jimmy Hendrix had known about fly fishing he would have played his guitar with a rod section or a rod seat as a bottleneck.

Isn’t Buffet the one that started the Save The Manatee craze and that’s why there’s a Florida fishermens’ boycott of his products? Wouldn’t matter how well he could cast, they wouldn’t let their fishing areas be trampled no matter what it takes to get there!

I know Rodger Waters uses graphite, does that make him "fast hand"on the bass?he was here in SA last year.amazing the people that fly fish huh!
