Jed, the weather sux

Jed, we have a resident hurricane that’s been off our coast for the last week, the flats will probably look like French-roast coffee with a little milk mixed in.

Dude,
We have 6 days to figure something out. If we don’t go fishing, maybe we can meet somewhere else for coffee or do some freshwater bass fishing. I’m easy. All I need to know is do I bring a 6wt and bass flies or an 8wt. and saltwater flies (or $1.00 for a cup of java). When I fished with the Hurricane off the coast last year the shore line was full of fish, each cast brought in something different, but I’m easy. We should talk Tuesday or Wednesday.

Hey, the weather has gotten better. I was fishing just yesterday and I couldn’t ask for better. The storm has turned away. The mullet run is in full swing. I’m sure the fishing will be fine.

Heck, I just bought a new chest pack. This trips not over till I get salt on it.

Remember to pray to the fishing gods and make of an offering of a Clouser minnow and a Leftys deceiver (on the left of course) and all will be well.

Yipeeeeee! Ooops, I mean, AAARRRGGGHH! The weather has cleared, now I must tie the gold for Saturday. I just hope the dikes are intact to get back to my area…reckon we’ll find out. I have a half-dozen places…we’ll make a day of it.

WeeeeeHaaaaaa or AAARRRGGHHH! Just cleaned up my rod and reel from this weekend, starting to get ready for Saturday.

Check list:
Rod
Reel
Rum
Floating and Intermediate Line
Bunch of Flies
Rum
Leader/Tippets
Boots, hat and hip flask (filled)
Sun Block
and some Rum.
See you all on Saturday

Yes I’ll take a camera, but I only need a boot as me peg leg don’t have an issue, and sun glass as my eye patch don’t need a shade.

jed

Will do JC, and Jed, whatever ya do…don’t ferget the rum (coconut rum, that is). Just kiddin’, never touch the stuff…
BTW, what time did we say we were meeting at Parrish? (was it 5:30 or 6?)

Between 7:30 and 8:00. I’ll be on the road starting 5:00 which should get me there around 7:30 to 7:45 according to Mapquest, so figure 8:00 should be a safe guess.

Jed…Ed…
Depending on the boat ramp crowd, we may have to find another place to park, not really a big problem. We’ll take my truck down to the Hell Hole providing the dikes aren’t closed. If they are, there are several other places we can get to that usually hold fish. I may take off Thursday and Friday in order to get some much needed flies tied and get some other stuff done. Weather predictions are low 90’s and light winds…should be dang near perfect.

can i come??? please???

Hell yeah, Davis…You can even camp out at the lodge, but you better get yer stuff in the car and start headin’ south. I have a reputation to protect, I’ve been known to feed late-comers to the hundred or so gators…ooops…did I say gators on the flats? Just kiddin’ Jed, no, really, there ain’t no stinkin’ gators down here (snicker).

Man, I am ready. I had a dream last night that I snapped my rod right at the ferrule. That’s not a bad sign, is it?

ed, if you’re referring to your fly rod, no it’s not a bad sign

MICUS!!! Coffee thru nose funny. Come on down. We can share a room again

FD, Ed said if I was scared I he’d carry me on his back and I could use it as a casting platform. He’s quite a guy.

I am also ready. I was going to start packing but a friend insisted I help him with a problem on his boat, and as long as we’re there (and we heard there are lots of peanut bunker and 'albies in the harbor) we might do some fishing. I’ll have to pack last minute. I might forget a change of clothing, but I’ll have my fishing gear.

jed

I think I just might have to change my mind about you two (Jed and Ed). I ain’t too sure about piggy-back fishin’. I’ve seen horseshoe crabs try that stuff and I must say again, I have a reputation and two guys ridin’ on each others backs…well, the mental image…there again, Ed, that might be where your dream came from on breakin’ your rod at the ferrel…I just don’t want to be around to see it, that’s all.

Whats that quote: “He’s not heavy, he’s my brother”

jed

Hold on a minute. I don’t know what Jed’s been drinking, but I think he’s starting to get delusional. We migh be pirates, but we’re not that kind of pirates.
