Jake's Parachutz Hebgen Dun SBS

Sorta/kinda like a synth ParaWulff with a nested indicator; being ocularly challenged, I fully endorse the addition. Not quite sure if the winging sequence is how Jake ties it, but this way worked for me. Tied here as a Callibaetis (the name’s a dead giveaway); change colors to suit your needs.

hook - Dai Riki 320 #14
thread - UTC 70 tan
tail - hackle fibers barred cream
body - dubbing tan rabbit
indicator - Parapost flo orange
wing - Congo Hair white
hackle - barred cream (oversize by 1)

Part 1

Mash down barb and attach thread

loop the Parapost, tie in (gap width long), trim butt

take a hank of CH underneath the hook, pull up on either side of indicator; x-wrap in place, then post them both

create thread bump at point above barb

even tips of a clump of hackle fibers, measure (shank length); tie in (get the torque/tension right and it’ll set itself at the desired angle; got it right first try this time, which is rare)

Part 2

since I forgot to tie in the hackle 2 steps ago, I’ll do it now; shiny side out

back to the tail; dub thread, dub body

wrap the hackle down the post, cup side up; let it hang, tie off at the base, trim tip

one wrap through the thorax, half hitch x 2, SHHAN; trim wing, go fish

Scott
