I've also been playing with dry caddis patterns.

The other day I wanted a slim but more buoyant dry caddis pattern than I had available in my box, so sat at the vice and concocted this.

Hook: Size 14 or 12 dry fly
Thread: UTC 70 Rust Brown
Back / Head / Over Wing: Natural deer hair (Roe deer)
Body: Wound CdC feather.
Wing: CdC
Hackle: Golden Badger trimmed top and bottom.

Its already taken fish on both stream and loch.

AlanB,
Looks like a real killer pattern!!!

You are right Hans, it does. Hadn’t seen that pattern before. It goes to show “Fools seldom differ”.
Thanks Byron.
Cheers,
A.
