Planned>>> 600+ wind turbines spread over 260+ miles…the largest wind farm in the world.
and I wonder why I have probs casting sometimes
Only in ND!

We have some breezes on and off around here, too.
Wind turbines have been in operation in the hills south east of Idaho Falls for a couple years now, and a major project in the same general area will be under way as soon as it is cleared by the controlling agencies.
John
More importantly are you as a citizen doing your part?:rolleyes:
Several wind farms here in Wyo. A large one along I-80 at Arlington, a new one at Fort Bridger, and one near Evenston. And these are only the ones that can be seen from I-80.
Take a look at this page:
http://www.eere.energy.gov/windandhydro/windpoweringamerica/index.asp
How much any particular sate is going to be able to do is based, in part, on the average wind speeds at the 30 meter and 50 meter A.G.L. (Above Ground Level).
I agree with Steve. All of us need to become more energy conscious and conserve as much as we can. We should all asses our situation and try to find ways to conserve. Every little thing we can do adds up when we do them as a nation.
Here is a PDF file on tips for energy conservation at home:

Most of the tips are good but one in particular is not. The use of compact fluorescent bulbs. They are full of mercury.
Nghthawk;
I agree the most (I don’t want to say STUPID) ill thought of and under researched IMO is that stinking light bulb!!! Talk about going backa…s wards. Now we all have to have them??
MERCURY !!! Can’t dispose of them
Sad but so very true…
The real sad thing is that every commercial building ,city hi rises ect has been using and polluting our land fill and water systems for decades
and now we are going to add all of our homes to the mercury poisoning problem.
