Hello all
Came across this site quite by accident and I think it’s probably the best thing on the internet.
I’ve been pursuing this sport for a lot of years and still managed to avoid becoming skilled at it ! I hope I can indulge in the wealth of knowledge that seams to be so freely shared on this site and still not be plagued with becoming good at it . Becoming too skillfull always seams to ruin a person.
Welcome aboard, you are not alone in “having avoid becoming highly skilled” department. There are a lot of great folks gentlemen and ladies. THey seem to become some of the best friends you have never personally met.
51BC, welcome! Hang on and enjoy a great ride. This is generally a pretty good bunch, and they know whereof they speak.
Kelly.
Howdy 51 …
Welcome to the gang. As for the rest of the bunch… wel, they’re all top notch folks.
Me, well I have a very well stocked supply of insignificant but interesting and entertaining knowledge. Which I will share… Greetings from sunny So. Oregon…

A big welcome from my neck of the woods as well.
Enjoy…
Steve
Hey 51BC,
Northeast Minnesota? I spent my formative years in Northeast North Dakota. If memory serves, you get a lot of winter up that way.
Welcome to FAOL from sometimes sunny Western Washington.
Folks here tend to be friendly and willing to help out a struggling fly angler. There’s a lot of info on this site. If you have a month or so of spare time, just hit the archieves and start reading.
Be sure to stop by the chatroom in the evenings. A bunch of aspiring fish bums hang out there and love to yak.
Again, welcome aboard.

welcome from the frozen (well, freezing) northern Ontario
Welcome! I’m new myself but can tell you this is a neat place to hang out. Lots going on!

Thanks for all the greetings, makes me feel like I just met a bunch of old friends !
Welcome aboard.
The best thing about this board is that you can always drop in - even if you haven’t posted in a while - and everyone is is always damn glad to see ya.
Welcome aboard from Hotter’en H*** So Cal. Days like this (109 degrees) I’d like to be in your neck of the woods. New guy brings fudge cycles and ice tea on his visits. I think you will like it here on FAOL. Jim
Welcome 51
I’m glad you could make it. Great country you’ve got there even allowing for the Vikings.
Pull up a chair and sit awhile - where do you fish and for what? pictures optional but appreciated!

Welcome aboard 51BC. Don’t listen to 'em when they tell you about all of the chores you’ll have to do. Everybody here can make their own coffee and bring their own doughnuts.
Have fun,
Ed
Hello from Ky! Looking forward to hearing about some of your fishin adventures. I have never been to Minn but would like to see some pictures.
Tom
Welcome to the best borad around!
If ever you find the need to learn some bad habits or techniques, or several other ways to keep yourself from becoming proficient, I’m your man. Welcome aboard.
Welcome aboard!!
and welcome from SE Idaho ( although I happen to be in Missoula MT right now ).
John
Welcome! Keep your eyes open and, like me, you can learn a lot.
