Introduce myself

Hi,
just registered to this forum, and I though it might be appropriate to introduce myself…
I am a 55 yrs old Dutch fly-angler/tyer.
My fishing is limited to vacations, tropical (Eleuthera last year), Norway, Scotland, England and Danmark.
My tying is pretty allround, although I specialise in smallish flies, mainly Parachutes.
Will try to attach a picture of one of my recent attempts…
Cheers from Holland,
Hans

Welcome to the board Hans, I think you will find this is a friendly site and some fishing reports from Europe would make an interesting read.
All the best.
Mike.

Hans,

Welcome to the family.

Welcome to FAOL Hans. I think you will like this web site. We do. Jimsnarocks

Thanks for the kind words of welcome guys.
After some looking around here it really seems to be a friendly bunch…
Cheers, Hans

Greetings, Hans…Welcome to the bunch !
On behalf of the other fellas from here…A hearty welcome from Southern Oregon
We like parachute flies, yours looks quite good… but…how much is a pence ??
Always good to hear about fishing around the world. By the way… going fishing anywhere, anytime, is some kind of vacation all on it’s own, in my opinion…however brief. Good to have you here, you’ll like the guys…ModocDan

[LEFT]Hello Hans,
Welcome to FAOL. Glad to have you aboard. That is a beautiful CDC pattern!

Welcome aboard, Hans!

Welcome to the FAOL BB Hans!
Doug

Welcome Hans, Enjoy

Thanks for the compliment bout the fly, but the one in the pic is just a smallish dry fly size 30.
Below is a Klinkie I tied for a friend in Scotland, size 20, and a small CDC size 24 that worked well in Norway…
Cheers, Hans

Welcome Hans. FAOL is a wonderful way to connect with like-minded folks as the weather starts to get cold. Also, if you happen to be the same Hans from the Netherlands that came up with the cdc and elk I probably owe you a nice bottle of scotch. It’s my go-to caddis pattern and works when it ought not. Again welcome.

Welcome Hans!

You’re actually the second member here named Hans from the Netherlands - the other is Hans Weilenmann. Do you know him? I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him a few years ago at the Sommerset show in New Jersey - very talented tyer, and just an all around nice guy. He’s got a lot of fans here in the States (myself included), and is always willing to help out a fellow tyer. Here’s his website: http://danica.com/flytier/index.html

Yes I have met Hans W on several occasions, he’s a great guy to talk to.
He’s done a lot of good things for flyfishing and tying.
Very talented tyer…
Cheers, Hans

Do you know Sunny side up? Bad joke.

Welcome to the site. Wish I knew how big that coin was so I could compare to the fly

Maybe this picture tell more… same fly with a US dime…
Cheers, Hans

Welcome Hans, and beautiful flies too!

Hans,
That can’t be a fly next to the dime. It’s a speck of lint.
Welcome to to FAOL. You’re obviously an accomplished fly tier, and just the opposite of me whose tied flies scare fish to death. The end result is the same but not quite as much fun.

Mark

Welcome Hans. Those are excellent flies in your thumbnails. Very well dressed. How in the world do you see to tie them on a tippet?

Welcome Hans!
