Hey nav63,
A big 'ole welcome to ya…
By the time you finish Flyfishing Basics to your left; ask a few questions and get tons of answers from the rest of the family, you won’t be a novice…
Good to have you, Jim
Thanks Jim

Hi Nav,
Glad to have you join us offically. Be sure to let us hear from you on a regular basis—questions, opinions and comments are all welcome. 8T
You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.
Hey Nav,
Welcome! I’m sure California’s a great place to fish, but someday ya just gotta get to Ohio for the elusive saltwater bluegill. To date, I am the ONLY guide available for this species.
BTW, Jack Hise said lies are accepted? Why, I am SHOCKED that he would say such a thing! To even HINT that ANY of us would even slightly stretch the truth is just awful! Jack…For shame!!

Hey Nav, those Ohio bluegills weren’t saltwater bluegills until Ohiotuber went carp fishing with Mcdonald’s French fries…

Ed, Ed, Ed,
Another one of those smart****s from Tennessee, hunh? FYI, I QUIT usin’ their darned fries when they went to the “healthy oil”!! Carp started spittin’ ‘em out. I’ll bet they’re even usin’ that “low sodium”, fake salt now too. It’s un-American!!

Poor Mr. O’tuber. You really do need to come on down here to Tennessee sometime. OUR Micky-d’s wouldn’t know what to do with unsalted salt. I think that they still cook fries in the grease left over from making cracklin’s. We’ll feed you good down here. And iff’n you wants salt and grease, we gots us this chain of rest-o-raunts called “Waffle House” that can clog your arteries faster 'n you can say “arteriosclerosydoessis”.
warm regards,
Ed
nav63,
It’s always good to see more Californians on here. Welcome!
Have you ever fished near the airport there along the Kern River? Apparently, it’s a popular place to fly in, camp on the airport property, and fish in the Kern River just near Lake Isabella.
I’m wondering if that section is fly-fishable or just for spin casting…
How’s the lake itself for fishing? Is it worth a visit?
I’m in the Silicon Valley area so Kern airport is within flying distance for a long weekend some day.
Welcome Nav! Lots to see within these pages. You should have your son and your neighbor/friend Kirk sign in too. Lot of tying tips and tricks on here and your son may want to post some of his own fly recipes too.
ohiotuber,
Whats the going rate to hire America’s exclusive saltwater blue gill guide, hehe
