I am interested in bulding fiberglass fly rods using spinning rod blanks. I have found 1 and 2 piece blanks in the six to seven foot range but I really have no idea what action to use to make rods that cast 5 to 7 wt. line with a moderate to slow action. The intention of the rods are for fishing panfish and bass. First I thought the ultralights and lights would probably be in the ball park but the more I think about it the more I think I may be wrong.
