Love the TV program. Well done and the host seems like he just has so much fun. Better than most of the fly fishing shows, especially the agenda-laden trout unlimited stuff.
I agree. They actually try to teach you something. Most fishing shows are just a whole lot of “Hey, watch me catch this fish… and this fish… and this fish…and this fish”. It gets really old. Really fast. The In-Fishermen are like the professors of gear fishing.
They have some good books out there too. They have a series called “Handbooks of Strategies” that have information on fish behavior, locations, great stuff. The four I have are Pike, Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Largemouth Bass. Although they are aimed at gear fishing, they have information that anyone could find useful.
Ditto to what you guys said. Everything In-Fisherman puts out is high quality: the TV show, the mag, books, and DVD’s. Their annual guides (ice, bass, walleye, panfish, catfish) are outstanding, too.
The only fishing shows I look forward to are IF and their two spin-off’s, “Angler’s Edge” with the Lindners and “Hunt for Big Fish” with Larry Dahlberg.
… or they’re just infomercials. Take out the product plugs, and Roland Martin would have a five minute show.
I use to love watching In-Fisherman back in the day. Haven’t seen it for awhile now but I remember back in the 80’s it use to come on TV Saturday afternoon on network (days of before Cable TV:lol:) around 1pm and my dad & I would always sit down and watch it together.
Use to love the old intro for the show back in the 80’s anyone else remember the opening theme showing the traffic jam on the freeway with the voice over of - "It’s a busy world out there, a world of push and shove…" Then it would cut to the scene of Al Linder fishing:cool:

For some reason…when I get a 4 or 5 pound bow on the end of a 5X leader and the reel is screaming like a banshee…my mind always drifts back to “Did I mow the lawn before I left home”…

Anybody remember the ‘precurser’ to InFisherman…Fishing Facts?
Back when I was a little tyke and just learning to read I cut my fishing ‘informational reading’ teeth on Fishing Facts magazine and their excellent tome, Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers (really showing my age here…).

I remember Fishing Facts. I believe Spence Petros was the editor? It was a good fishing magazine!
I like the Lindners, too, and I’ve had the occasion to converse (via e-mail) with In-Fisherman editor-in-chief Doug Stange, as well as a couple other guys there…all first class, down-to-earth, nice guys. Very approachable, very helpful, VERY knowledgable!
I have to remind myself to KEEP YOUR STUPID FAT FINGERS AWAY FROM THE HANDLE while it’s spinning at top speed. LOL
Same here. I still have the first FF mag I ever read. It’s the February 1975 issue. I also owned “Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers”.
The original Fishing Facts was the best fishing mag ever, IMO. It’s still around today, but it’s a pale copy of what it once was.
The “field editors” (as they called their contributors) included Buck Perry, Spence Petros, Tony Portincaso, Charlie Brewer, Carl Malz, and the Lindner brothers.
You’re bringing back good memories, Buddy. 
All great shows, and the other was Virgil Wards Campionship Fishing!!! I have two copies of Lunkers Love Nightcrawlers, a first edition and one of the updated ones and wouldn’t be without them.
Yeah the first parts are raising them, care etc. but the following chapters get you into the location, presentation and tackle.

Fishing Facts was one mag I use to always have to buy as a kid, and I spent many a day watching Virgil Ward and his son fishing for Artic Char (seems like that’s all he ever fished for lol) on TV with my dad as a kid.
I use to love all the old fishing shows. Remeber Jerry Mckenize and the “fishing hole”? and then Billy westmoreland use to come on right after the fishing hole show. Ah the good ol’ days of saturday morning TV.
