fly fishing or fly tying
As much as I like fly tying, I’m afraid that if I could only do one it would be fly fishing for me. Fly tying would go.

I tie more than I fish and love it, but it would go in favor of fishing. Tying is in the living room, fishing in nature.
I’d give up the tying. When I’m too old the fish… I’d just trade. LOL
Seeing as we’re talking reality though… there’s no reason to give up either one! WHEW!

I sometime question why I ever started in the first place.
Tying, I can find somting else to do with my tying time.
Gotta fish, i enjoy working on flies but I love fishin. The whole time I’m putting a fly together I’m thinking this is the fly that’s going to catch my next trophy. take a picture and let it go, of course.
I only tie flies to give myself something to fish with. If I could get someone else to tie all the flies that work for me, no questions whatsoever I would give up tying.
But why would I give one up?
I love being outdoors, so I hope to be fly fishing long after I’m to feeble to tie.
Besides, I tried stocking the bath tub with black bass once. While she fishes, the wife wasn’t amused.

I tie to fish. I don’t fish to tie.
I don’t think I could choose. They’re one and the same to me
I’ve tied all my own flies for 35 years and I just can’t imagine using flies someone else had tied
If I had to give up one or the other… I think it would be both
Tying for sure…Even though I’m still in the beginner stage. I can always buy.
If I can’t keep the fishy, I would give up the fishing.
I can always go hiking to enjoy the outdoors.

I’ve switched to fly tying now that the season is pretty much done here in Michigan, and I’ve just tied some flies I’ve come upon in books I’ve been reading and am really, really, really, eager to try next April. Such a long ways to go… 
These are flies you won’t find at any fly shop.

I enjoy doing both but if I had to make a choice, I’d give up tying and keep fishing. I can alway buy flies from the guys who enjoy thing more than fishing. One good tier can keep many fishermen supplied in quality flies.
This is one of those “would you rather lose your right leg or your left leg” questions. I honestly don’t want to give up either.
