If I may suggest, it would be great if you fly tying ARTISTS would not "step" on

It would be great if you ARTISTS would avoid “stepping” on a previous artistic post and let it :ride for at least a day.

Mark

Are you saying there should be a limited number of posts? I actually think this forum is pretty stagnant; more input from tyers would be appreciated.

Regards,
Scott

Aloha Marco,
I wish you would explain your concern more thoroughly….

Personally, I’m not an “artist”, but do post pics of flies I tie to try to get a discussion going on types of patterns. Sadly, there is rarely much discussion.

I can’t quite make out your concerns.

Thanks, Marco!

Gents,
Not so much a concern as allowing time for for the presentations/posts to be appreciated by us for at least a day. My comment CERTAINLY isn’t intended to admonish ANYONE for posting but suggesting that , since y’all are the ONLY ones posting nowadays ( seems like), to allow a specific post to linger for a day perhaps before posting a new one on top of it. I do hope that splains my thoughts.

Mark

Totally see the point and totally agree!!

I only post occasionally.

Still disappointed that there is so little discussion spurred by posts of tying patterns. That’s primarily what I’m looking for in my posts: when is this pattern effective….what hatches it works best on….why designed as it is….etc.

Thanks for the clarification, Marco

i dont see the issue of posting every day or even more than once in a day

open the posting in question and leave it up on you’re screen until you’re ready for a new posting

most posting of flies do not even get a response from other members viewing it anyway. kinda rare to get a response

this forum used to have a lot of members posting fly patterns but now its down to roughly a handful.

negative requests may even bring down the number of posters

I used to post more often, but kind of gave up.
Posting pics of flies should be a way to encourage other tyers to also post and to elicit interest and discussions about particular patterns and the method of tying them.

Doesn’t seem to work that way anymore.
Used to generate more discussions of techniques, materials used, etc.

Sort of a shame now, as only a few post pics and hardly any comments or discussion.

As usual, Marlo has a good observation!

Post away!! I don’t tying all of them, but like to see the variety of patterns and skills required. Thanks to all the regular tiers. That is one of the only reasons I visit this site as often as I do. Thanks guys.

Boy some one has thin skin.
