Incredible!!!
I say, Andres, If those Mantis fellows were large, real ones would be very scary.
Keep up the masterful work…ModocDan
you definitely need to do a fly of the week for one of youre realistics
Hello Betty, modocdan, DDRRedneck500,
Thank you!
Modocdan, this is only 10 cm, a little bigger will be a problem

I don’t know, what they sell for in YOUR country, my friend, but YOU are going to owe ME a new computer monitor, after all the bug spray I keep having to spray mine with, each time you post and I FORGET you’re “tying” these insects!
Again, beautiful work!
what is it :?::?:
Norm,
A mantid that is a flower mimic. Though I must say, if I saw one in the wild, I don’t think the first word out of my mouth would be “rose”. More like “Yikes”.
Andres,
I just look & say “HOW does he do it?”
Beautiful!
Mike
Hello all,
So sorry flybinder,LOL,LOL, next time I?ll send you a different one - what about an octopus?
Sagittarius6, thank you for the pic!
Normand, this mantis is from India, I think it is one of the most beautiful mantis.
Ohiotuber, thanks a lot. The fly is tyed on a Tiemco 202SP 3/0. I used piano wire, foam, captus spines, thread 8/0.

Andres,
I had a captive Praying Mantis at one time and it was the most interesting insect. Your Mantis looks great!
Doug
I insist, YUK!!! horrible things you tie compadre totally horrible I really think you should get rid of those things, they could give you a heart atack hehehehe as I have always told you eres la reostia!!! an absolute master tier hats off to you buddy.
And specially thanks alot for having the patience and disposition to teach me
Best regards
Xavier aka CC
That is too cool! How long does it take you to tie something like that?
Hi Dshock, I also had some captive ones. There are a lot of very beautiful insects in the world but for me beetles, butterflies and mantis, the most interesting ones.
Xavi, it?s my pleassure, my friend.
Tyronefly, 200 - 300 hours ??? of amusement. As I said in another place there is a secret about tying flies, I can stop time, as when I was a child.
Andr?s
That’s one of the most wonderful things I’ve heard said about fly tying! Thank you, Andres!
