Ideas on Fishing the Port Charlotte & 10,000 area this Spring

Since I’m still waiting to see if I’m moving to Florida, I’m heading that way anyways for some fishing since I can’t wait!

We’re headed to the Port Charlotte area and possibly 10,000 island area as well the 1st of May for 5 days. Never fished this area before and needed ideas for going after some backcountry tarpon and snook on the Fly!

We were thinking getting a guide 1 day than either kayaking a few back areas or a flats boat for some fun? Also should we try and hit the Hill Tide phase or would it matter?

As for the Hill Tides in Boca Grande tarpon fishing, that’s usually very restricted & reserved for the bait fishers as they really frown upon fluff chuckers using a long wand in Boca Grande Pass during silver king season http://www.MyFWC.com :cool:
