Anyone who has made this Fish-In in the past knows that the weather usually cooperates and the fishing is great. If you haven’t made it to this Fish-In, your missing something.

REE

hmmm…gonna put my 2 cents in on this…forget the weather and fishing, the people alone make this trip worth its while. LOL…ok so the fishing does have something to do with it . Lots of great water to fish and the fish are willing to bite. This year I will make sure to bring some small ant patterns in addition to the October Caddis patterns. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Take care everyone and cya around. Mark

Now this one is more up my alley. Grew up in Glenn’s Ferry (about 60 miles east of Boise).

she who dies with the most toy’s wins.

Well Gang, it is official. Has been planned before the 2005 ID FI was over. REE & VEE & Les & Myself got our heads together and figured it was just too good a place to fish to not have one again at the same time of year on this Blue Ribbon Trout Water. We coordinated it with LF & JC & Marie, the owner of the Resort.

Might be a good idea to call in your room reservation if you plan on staying in one of the rooms or Cabins. There are also lots of camping sites if that is your thing.
Marie is the Owner’s name & 1-888-926-4430 is the # to call.

We would appreciate it if anyone planning on going to contact LF & JC and have your name added to the “I’m Going List”.

There will be a surprise for all attending. Nope, I’m not telling. You will have to be there to find out.

There will be lots of fun /fishin / eatin / tyin & lyin.
Come fish this Blue Ribbon Trout water with us. Bring your camera, take lots of photos because VEE will be buggin ya to mail them to her so we can do a good follow up after it is over.

All the Hosts, LF & JC extend you a warm welcome to join us.

Sept 24 thru the 30th, 2006.

C U There

End of September? Oh darn…kids are in school, and they’re not old enough to be left alone. Yet.

Shoot. Maybe in couple of years…or have one closer to Boise area… There are lots of neat areas within an hour drive. Good camping, too.

After I learned to fish my October caddis like a bass popper I caught fish like it was going out of style. October caddis were hatching like tiny caddis hatch on other rivers, and they’re size 6 flies. I highly recommend going to this. I will try to make it again this year.

Mark and Benjo,

Looking forward to seeing you at Lowell again this year.

DianeID,

How about some information on the rivers in your area. How far are you from Lowell?

REE

All within couple hours (or less) is the Boise River, including the branches, Owyhee, Snake, Payette, Clearwater, etc. There are others that we haven’t visited. We also have couple good lakes/reservoirs around the area. Area info: [url=http://www.idfishnhunt.com/swidrpt.htm:fad5b]http://www.idfishnhunt.com/swidrpt.htm[/url:fad5b]

Lowell is about 5 hours driving if you believe mapquest. I’ve never been up in that area, but it’s stating there’s about a 250 mile drive. I know some of that is highway so it might be 4 odd hours. (I’ve learned my lesson about something that looks easy on an Idaho map vs reality. Just don’t ask about our drive over the hills to Emmett.)

Just moving it up.

Called Three Rivers yesterday to reseerve our quarters for the Fish-In. We were the first to register. I know it’s really early, but I’d rather be sure to get a place than sleep in the car.

REE

LOL REE…I plan on roughing it again this year. Well…minus the three night backpack up the Selway since I think we will just camp out in the tent at the campground the enitre trip. Either way, I plan on driving down Lolo Pass and setting up the tent in the rain only to have the weather clear an hour after setting up. And to top it off I plan on having great weather until the morning I leave when it will be raining again. Yep that sounds like how the weather works out for me anytime I go camping for more than 2 nights. Wooohoooo good times LOL

Diane ID read Tyfliers Read in Sound Off…I say…Tke the kids!!!

Jonezee,
Yes, I was reading the Fly-In and kids in Sound Off. I’m very impressed how many adults are willing to step forward and be a mentor for an hour or two. I came along on some trips with my father and his friends. They were some of the best memories. All the adults were kind and willing to pass along a few tips. Not one “off-color” joke, nor was I exposed to smoking (although I know they waited until I went to bed). There was lots of soda, and I recall a bottle of wine with dinner (Steak and fish!).

I’m sure FAOL would have excellent standards, but taking the kids out of school for a week in the fall and another in the spring (most likely) is probably something more than we’re comfortable with. However, I wouldn’t hesitate if it was closer. Missing 2 days of school is better than five.
