Yes tying is as much as hobby of collecting. Folks tie but unless they also collect their heart and mind are not one. When you pay $15.00 or a spool of Pearsall’s discontinued silk just to tie a few old style Clyde style s/h’s. Or you want to collect an old style vise such as a Thomas.
Discontinued Pearsall’s silks?Where, how much, can I get more than one spool? Clyde style? How about Tummel or Tweed? It never ends does it. Your not really beyond help until you start buying materials “just in case you find a fly you can tie with it”. I have several drawers for just such materials.

It’s too late then nyfisherman, I 've been catching fish with my own ties for a while now, just starting out in the “experimentation” phase of tying, new materials and techniques
