I went and did it...............

I stopped at a crafts store. I originally was just going to look around and see what they had. I ended up spending $50 on glass beads, craft (poly) yarn, some peacock tail feathers ($1.99 for two pack !!) and a neat little thread holder rack. I guess I have finally, really crossed over to the dark side. God have mercy on my soul.

That’s how it starts Mike. There is no turning back.

There’s no turning back now.

I agree. Why-oh-why did I look up “craft supplies” in the Yellow Pages? lol

You know you are truly lost when you slow down when driving by free range chickens to evaluate them for Hackle. I haven’t bought any yet but there was a varient rooster I would have made an offer on if anyone was home.

You are not totally lost, yet. You only have one thread rack.

Kevin;
And it is the small one!! He’s savable.

Yup. Just wait until he has 5 or 6 of the large thread racks. One each for thread, floss, wire, tinsel, vinyl rib, tubing, yarn, weight wire, dental floss, and ultra micro mini tiny chenille. I guess thats 10 racks. See? You are way behind already.

When asked who the first fly-tier was, God replied, I AM.

Thankfully I see nobody has touched on roadkill - thats another whole can of worms that can upset the wife if she finds it in the freezer:eek:

In the future never go to a knitting or sewing store with your wife.

You’ll need one rack for silk, 8/0, 6/0 3/0 also tinsel, round and oval you see where we are going with this.

Mike,
You would not believe what You can find in “Quilt Shop’s” also.
However You haven’t completly gone over to the “Dark Side” until You view Tying size 18’s as a “Large” Fly and You go thru a couple of hundred sz. 32’s a year:lol:

Michael’s has a sale on Crystazzi beads starting this week. Just sayin’.

I have that same thread holder. it works great just about have to go get another one

I threw in a couple of thread furled leaders with the punch yarn…that will really take hime to the Dark Side!!

Thought the same thing about the thread rack, first mistake was to buy one that you could fill that day. I have started to describe my hobby as collecting fly tying materials. I really don’t use them all, just have to possess them. It’s a compulsion. I need that, I need that, I NEEEEEED THAT!

Good lucky to you man.
