I need to get my boxes in order

I just decided to get my boxes in order for all my fishing needs. In one box, I want to have all smallmouth flies, in another steelhead flies (already finished on the steelhead THANK the Lord) one for largemouth, and one for panfish. My problem, I have never really fished for largemouth or bluegill on the fly. I am fairly new, and have only really caught a few smallmouth and hooked into about 4 steelhead. So does anyone want to tell me what should be in a largemouth bass box and a bluegill box?

If you will look in the panfish archives you will find 10 of my favorite gill patterns. Don’t forget some small woolly buggers also.

A few more Gill flies to those already mentioned that work well for me :

Gill Getter http://shorterlink.com/?YTIL65[/url:d45b7]

Dixie Bug http://shorterlink.com/?JRPMUP[/url:d45b7]

Don’t forget the Gurgle Pop : http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/fotw2/121503fotw.html[/url:d45b7]

And a bunch of wet flies, dry flies, and nymphs you might already use for trout might help.

Just use different sized muddler minnows and you will only need one box for all.

Let me second the recomendation for Gurgle Pops. They are cheap to make, easy to tie (even for a nontyer) and they catch fish like crazy. Definitely a GREAT warm water fly! 8T

You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.

Sometimes its any fly that will fit in their mouth. Other times they can be more finicky than the wiliest of trout.
