I Moved on Christmas eve...

Bought a nice little bungalo on 29 acres and had to make the move on the 24th!!!

Feels like “The little house in the Big Woods.”

Still in the same part of this Great Big lovely country.

One great thing about the move, I am about twice as close as I was to two very good trout streams. And that much closer to our favorite camp grounds which is on a very beautiful lake at the outflow of a very good fly fishing river.

Some think me crazy for moving this time of year.
I think this is a great gift for my wife, kids and myself.

Only thing I know for sure, God is so good!!!

Yaffle, I drove thru your area ten years ago. You live in a beautiful place. I agree that it was a gift to your family to move and really the time of year is the time you choose. That is the best time.

Tks Gardenfish
I’ll be closer to some favorite trout streams, looking forward to spring.

And for sure this is beautiful country, but under ice and snow presently.

I’m not complaining because when we do thaw the fishing is great and the rivers are mostly void of anglers of any type.

Have a happy New Year!! -Yaf

Yaffle, may the happiness and enjoyment of your new move be only the beginning to what the future holds for you and the family.

Philip

Thank you Philip.
We are enjoying our new surroundings even though we have a little way to go before we’re completely unpacked.

Yaffle;
What a terrific Christmas present for your family!! I’ll bet one of the first things done was getting the tree up.
I live in the woods about 6 miles from town surrounded by private lands only used for deer hunting (the rule is no one hunts anothers land on opening day). Had 3 cars go by one after another once and asked the county to put up “Slow Down! Old Duffer Area!”.

Sorry Jack, no tree, not in the house anyway, too much unpacking to do, still trying to get there but it’s taking a long time.

When we first came to take a good look at this property, we walk the trails and saw moose, and deer tracks along with Black Bear droppings and spooked three Ruffed Grouse.
Gotta like that.

I was looking at a topogrphical map today and there are a couple of spring sreeks on the property behind us, but can’t tell whether they might be big enough to hold Brook Trout. Looks like a fair walk to get to where they are, I’m always up for a challenge.
