…we were given the most dreadful news a doctor can give. The doctors were absolutely certain that Amy had terminal lung cancer. We were devastated but all of you came to our rescue! We followed the advice given on this wonderful board and I am absolutely convinced that all of you helped save her life. Your advice to avoid radical surgery until all of the diagnostic options had been thoroughly exhausted by several different specialists proved to be very wise advice. The last biopsy revealed benign macrophages even though the PET scan showed cancer in multiple lesions. The good news arrived about three weeks before Christmas.
So much good has come out of that bad situation. We are both healthier now. We both count our blessings every day and are very thankful for them. We both came to realize just what a huge blessing this wonderful board and it’s members, family, is. This FAOL family has it’s differences at times but we do not hold grudges and forgive. Most importantly, when one of ours is in need we do not hesitate to help. The well wishes, prayers and advice got us through those dark days. You all even got us over the hump with the smoking. Both of us have been smoke free for over a year now.
I am forever in the debt to all here at FAOL. I think all of you are the very best folks there are on this earth. Anyone that doesn’t just does not know what they are missing. Thank you all of you.
Wow !! Four major milestones for you and Amy this year. BOTH of you stopped smoking !! That’s got to be right at the top of the list, not far behind Amy’s recovery and barely ahead of your commitment to weight loss and good health. A lot of good things had to happen for all that to come about. Keep after it !!
Folks,
Eric & Amy are great friends of mine. No doubt our prayers have helped them, but their faith is their strength and, as it should, it gets stronger during times of adversity. They certainly have been an inspiration to me as have Tim & Susan over in Virginia! It’s always uplifting for me to see or talk to them.
Eric & Amy, Tim & Susan…God Bless you all!
Mike
Gee whiz, folks, thanks for all of the kind responses. We are so happy to have all of you sharing the celebration of life with us. Bless you all!
Amy and I decided to celebrate life in a big way this coming holiday season. Even though money is tight right now we bought tickets to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra in November at Hershey, Pa Giant Center. When we go there we will be taking all of you, in thought and spirit, with us to celebrate the joys of life and the spirit of the holidays.
