Nice tie Planet!!!
I really like the color scheme of the hybrid you tied. Looks great!
Another thing you might try is leave out the wing case and put in a mottled soft hackle.
That’s a good option!
I really like the Mirage Opal Tinsel for most of my flashback nymphs but one thing I’ve been messing around with lately is a few different Holographic Tinsels. The red, silver, gold, peacock and black etc… has brought some “Bling” to some things. Like a red under some scud-back on the abdomen of stoneflies or some black or peacock in place of the normal flashbacks. As far as wing cases go turkey and pheasant are some of my favorites but some fun ideas are things like Z-lon or para post even biots. I mean you could use so much but hope some of these ideas get the electrons firing. They did for me, time to tie, working on an adult golden stone that incorporate some unique ideas.
The Skip Nymph is a hybrid that took its major elements from both the PTN and GRHE.
How is Mr. Endress these days? I fished with him for surf corbina in Ventura years ago. I even used his name in one of my cartoons.

Byron,
That’s a great looking fly. On a light wire hook, it would be a real killer.

Thank you. Yes light wire. I did weight thorax area with lead free wire of 7 wraps
Very nice! The contrast between the thorax and abdomen is great.
Dean is doing well…he experienced the death of his Dad this past year and went through some tough times…he may be found here:
