What’s a good percent $$ to tip a guide? I have no idea. Full day trip, all gear and lunch included and unlimited knowledge of the river.
15-20% or whatever you feel the guide was worth.

Sometimes a guide doesn’t have access to certain things. Often your ‘left over’ flies would be very appreciated. A new fly line or even your fly rod, depending on many variables. Money is not always the best. After fishing with him you might get a better insight to this.
I am no expert on tipping but I use guides about 3 times per year so I can fish and not row. Last week, I tried something new and tipped the guide $100 before the start of the float. This way, the guide knew what he was working for and wasn’t getting stiffed. It worked out extremely well. My fishing partner had an unbelieveable day on the water and tipped the guide again at the end of the float. It was a great day.
