How do you change a dyna king shaft?

I just got a Supreme from a board member and I love it. I also ordered the clamp and longer shaft. I can’t figure how to take the head of and remove the old shaft and put the new one on. There is an allen screw looking hole but none of the allen wrenches they sent fit. It must be bigger than the 3/32 but smaller than the next one up I have. At Dyna king the lady told me it was a 3/32. I can vouch it is not. Am I trying the wrong place? Right near the top on the side. ANy help, diagrams prayers for my temper are appreciated.

Give it a transgender operation and it’ll be a ‘dyna-queen’.

Please, no one tell me it has to want to change.

You have the right place, but possibly someone lost the original set screw, and replaced it with an odd or metric one. After you find the proper tool, the head just lifts off.No turning, threading, etc. The shaft has a flat on it,that you need to line up when tightening.Good luck. CJ

You now know how to get it off but just don’t have the proper size Allen wrench. You can get a full set of them at Big Lots or other store for very little money. You will likely use them again in years to come. Ed.

I actually bought a whold set and none of them fit. The next biggest size is too large.

Well, being the guy who sold the vise, I feel it necessary to state that everything is factory original. I never removed the head or felt a need to change the stand rod.

I sure hope someone can help Rick get the vise set up the way he wants it. I’d hate to think one of our members might have a bad taste in his mouth over the sale.

There is no bad taste at all! I love the vise and got a great deal. Sometimes stuff just happens. Since you never tried to change it you never noticed. Dyna King is going to take care of it for me. Part of having such a great vise is the service that comes with it. Once more, very pleased with the vise and would be glad to purchase from you again in the future.
