There has been lots of discussions on types/prices of various fly tying hooks. I found this site which seems to have good prices on Mustad hooks which are my main hook.
Has anybody done business with them? Comments?
Thanks, Tim Anderson

I’d say its a toss up on prices between Cpt Hook and Hook and Hackle.
For instance, compare the 3399 and 94840 for price.
One site is cheaper on one kind of hook and the other site is cheaper on another.
In addition, Cpt Hook doesnt carry as many models of hooks as Hook and Hackle.
Since Hook and Hackle is a sponsor here that would be my choice to buy Mustad hooks.
There are many ways to look at hook preference. In my opinion, Mustad hooks are cheap, made cheap and don’t hold a point very long. But…they land fish and look the same hanging from a tree limb or under a rock. With that said I prefer Daiichi and Tiemco for their strength and for how long they hold a point. It’s all relative and a debate that will go on as long as there are hooks. My thinking is that if paying a little more money may help me catch a fish of a lifetime I’ll go that route. of course, I’m single and have all the time and money in the world! LOL! That’s a lengthy post, but heck, I had the time.
