Has anyone every used one of these blanks before? Hook and Hack currently has the kit on sale. I’ve never built a rod, but would love to give it a shot and this kit looks interesting. It is well within my price range and would fill a nice slot in my arsenal.
Can anyone give opinions of this rod or the H&H rods in general??

I built a 7’9" 3wt kit that they use to have. I’m guessing the Xi replaced it. The blank was matt black. Great little rod! Wish I wouldn’t have sold it. I think you’ll really like it and with H & H you can’t go wrong. Nice folks, great service!
Anyone else have any experience with this rod? They are currently have a good deal on them until midnight tonight. I’m trying to decide whether to jump on it or not. Right now I’m leaning towards yes, I wouldn’t be out that much money and it would give me a new, fun, interesting project.
I think that would be a great way to get started in rod building, you can’t go wrong with one of those kits. There is plenty of info here on FAOL to get you started, too. I built a 7’9" Rainshadow two piece and it is a little too stiff for a 3 weight, though. But that is a different blank.

Do you suppose the Xi has anything to do with the Xi series by Sage?
