I see were Ron Eagle Elk has put up a story about the Deschute River in Washington. I hope that these stories help anyone that is fishing in that area.
You may notice, if you go to the Homewaters feature, that Al Campbell has put quite a few stories in there. That’s was the kind of guy that Al was. He would give of his time and knowledge and expect nothing back. I really miss him.
You and I could try to be a little bit like Al was by sharing our knowledge of our homewaters stream in an unselfish, giving fashion. Helping others to be better fishers. You don’t have to write an award winning story, just explain a little bit about your home stream or lake.
Chubs;
Nice idea! I’ll see what I can do with my favorite The Little Manistee at Bear Track Campground.
Located about 6 miles west of Iron’s Michigan this streatch of the Little Manistee is a very pristeen wild river, no stocked trout, very wadable. A great place for a beginer. Brown’s and Rainbow’s sometimes few and far between. The campground is primitive and seldom crowded. Steelhead in April, King’s in August. Just a great place to rid yourself of the Shack Nasties with a group of good friends on the trout opener!! Caught my first trout of the season there on a Too Simple Al Campbell’s Caddis!!
My newbe this year asked me “Are you comming back next year” my answer was “Of course” he replied “Good pick me up then!!”.
Don’t forget the Michigan Fish-In August 14th to the 20th. The Holy Water’s of the Au Sable await you!!
