"Holy Cow"...Sorry Not Fishing Related

A childhood idol passed away today; Phil “Scooter” Rizzuto; #10, a Yankees legend and a Hall of Fame member.

Baseball is a passion for me that rivals and surpasses fishing at times and Scooter helped me to realize that passion way back when.

I’ll eat a cannoli, (which I HATE); in your honor my friend!

Holy Cow!

“Holy Cow!” He made the words famous.

At risk of questioning the reply of " himself" was it not Harry Caray of Chicago Cubs announcer fame that is most closely associated with the phrase " holy cow"??. On the other hand, I may be expressing some local team bias but that’s what Harry used to say almost after every sip of his Budweiser ( and that, rumor has it, was quite often) And yes, Phil WAS someone you could idolize. Even though I hated the yanks, we all respected him.

Mark,
I am too far ‘LEFT’ to know anything about Phil, but from what I’ve read he was a beloved player in NY.
I remember Harry for “Holy Cow!” and I never knew WHAT to make of Harry! He was very unique!
GO CUBBIES!!!

Hey Steve,
It’s not my post to comment, but, a totally forgivable hijack IMHO. Good lookin boy and already shows signs of foresight ( Cubs stuff). Congrats to all.

Well all you Cubs fans; how do you like your new manager who I WISH was the Yankees manager; X-Yankee #14 - Sweet Lou Pinella!

Good luck Cubs!! Nothing would make me happier than to say, “I told you so” to some Yankee fans I know that didn’t want Lou to replace Torre.

Bamboozle…Although I am not a Yankee fan, his passing is the loss of a great player & a mna of solid character.

Steve…Fine looking young man…looks like he’s planning to be a Cubs catcher one day!
