I got a call from the guy who does the videos for the Albany Fly Tying Expo to let me know I was on Youtube, and would be included on the DVD for Albany. Anyhow, here it is. Please keep laughter to a low decibel level to save our hearing.
I think Clooney and Pitt’s careers are safe but it was a nice job in my opinion. it was nice to be able to put a face to your name finally too.
Keep up the good work REE.
That’s cool Ron. Now I can tell people I know a star! Kidding aside, it’s nice to know that people who tie as well as you, break thread as easily as me.
It is good to see you on youtube with all the other infamous people who inhabit youtube, whose names or reasons for infamy I will not discuss in this forum.
It was nice to see your face to monitor, your piece really is easy to follow I could see using it at our camp as you discuss elements of tying that will be good for the young starts…
Nice video. I like how you are able to include some history behind the fly and methods, like the why wax the thread, your opinions on starling feathers (which I agree with 100%), etc, so smoothly. Nice video.
Nice job! I especially like where you show beginners how to break the thread at a critical point (and recover). Seriously though, nicely done. Everything was explained clearly along with historical information.
Well now, I must say I liked your recovery from that thread break.
Ya know, it’s not the mistakes you make; but how well you can recover from them.
Nice to put a face with the name, Ron.
And watching a tyer do a fly is very helpful to me. I get to see some different methods.
Thanks! :tieone:
Thanks Folks (blushing a bit here). That video was kind of a fluke. The video guys at the tying expo asked me to do a short bit and I said ok. had no idea it would show up on youtube. I have no other plans for videos, wouldn’t even know where to begin. I do love the history of this sport and feel that everyone should learn a bit of it.
Really enjoyed the video. I just got high speed service a few weeks ago and this is exactly the kind of stuff I wanted to be able to see. The timing also coincides nicely with the Starling skin I just finished processing. Good job, well done!
