Hey Jack!

Do you have any of these Goats? ; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we9_CdNPuJg

Doug;
We had a few of the “Fainters”, in our herd a couple of years ago. They’re a genetic gene throw back to the African Pygmy Goat. That “You Tube” clip, is real… the idiot with the umbrella, running around, really did make those goats act the way the film showed.

We don’t breed or sell, our goats for meat, (Linda’s goats are all bred and sold,for herd improvement and for showing), but we still got rid of our Fainters, because they were a pain to raise and keep healthy.

And, we never could figure out, “Why any one, would want a pet that fell down at the slightest sudden movement!?”

Thank You Flybinder!
Now I know why I don’t have any goats!!

Jack,
Look at it this way at least you don’t have to kill them to get some dubbing fur from them. Just shoot the rifle into the air and then snip off all the fur you want. :lol: :lol:

Why waste the lead?? Do what that clown did, in the film clip… “run around with a golf umbrella and wave it at them”!?! Geesh, what some won’t do for entertainment!?!

I wouldn’t doubt it, one BIT… if it came to light, that BOTH of those people eat gumbo,(okra added), and fried SPAM, at least 3 days a week!?!

I am seeing a Spam sculpture of a goat baked on a bed of Okra served with gallons of hot sauce and several cases of beer!

I am seeing…a fly fisherman…puking his guts out, at just the THOUGHT of such a combo!

flybinder;
Tobasco sauce can make even “C” rations taste like Manna from Heaven!! I did forget to mention that the Spam Goat over Okra would be baked on a wooden plank and we would eat the plank after offering the rest to the God of Uck!!
Forgive the error.

Jack,
I just wanted to warn you that you almost Hi-Jacked my post! Your fortunate that you typed the word “Goat” in your reply.

Doug, would it really get your goat if somebody DID hijack (Hi, Jack!) your post? I mean if somebody were to Buck the trend and Kid around a little, would it cost you anything? Would you be out any Doe? Don’t you realize that somebody is gonna milk a post like yours for all its worth?

Ed

It’s kinda like cow tippen, right?

Merry Christmas
Sean

Ed, I’m sure Doug is only upset because someone horned in, on his post and he’d prefer, I’m sure, that those that do such a thing, would just hoof it on outta here and leave things alone!?
(It’s baaaaaaah’d enough, when others do it, on other posts too.)

I’ve often herd, that things like that bother him. But, I didn’t think, really, that is cud bother him too much. Could be, that he merely grazed the post and didn’t really read it, in depth.
Whatever, maybe if we just let things, lie, and not udder another word… he’ll forgive us!?
So, for now, I think I’ll go and browse another post.

Doug, since you’ve been so kind to me, ever since I joined FAOL and for the fact, you’re a member in good standing of “The NBOF”… because I simply would NOT,DO THIS for JUST ANYONE ya’ understand… but recently, you mentioned you were single and now this post brings to my attention that you have a real “interest in the Caprine animal world”, so, I thought I’d post a pic of one of our “girls” for you!

No, problem with me, if you want to print it out and put it in your wallet, or paste in where you can see it at any time, around your place. I just wanted to be “nice” since it IS the Holiday Season and all…

Doug;
Since my bride is the real “Goat person” around here, and runs our herd, I asked her about your two pictures. (thanks, for those, by the way, they’re really amazing shots!).

Anyhooooo, she looked at your pics and commented on the fact… “Gee, hasn’t your friend, Doug, ever seen a herd goats, decorating a tree for Christmas?” (Hmmmm, sounds like something, my lovely would say).
But, she then, quickly added that “Those are African Pygmy cross, goats and they simply do that, for two reasons…one: Because that’s where the freshet and most abundant food is, in that desert area and two: Because they CAN!”. She, also, told me that "many goats, especially the older ones, die making these tree climbing attempts, but when becoming too hungry they’ll do it anyway.

The third and most important reason is so Dougie and other predators cannot catch and eat or otherwise mess with them.
