Realizing there are no trouts in the Black Hills, I’d still have to sum it up in four words:

Simply mawvolous Betty! Some of my favorite quarry. And one of the best aspects is made indicative by your “signature” - “Trouts fon’t live in ugly places”. Glad to see/hear of your prosperity!

Live each day as if it were your last, some day you’ll be right!
thanks Betty
They’re no 24" + denizens - but they are priceless gems just they same.
(I was wondering if you’d be throwing out some bones for the hounds …)
great stuff … more … more … please more of them non-Black Hills trout
OK … just one more …
Pulled in a “non-BH” trout, pushing 22" and 5 pounds on a 5’ 2 weight that I built for the little streams. FAT FAT FAT! Took a while to land him, and even longer to get my heart started again!!

Betty,
Glad to see your confirming the fact that there are no trouts in South Dakota (though the picture isn’t helping the case any). I know when I go back to visit relatives on Pine Ridge, we never fish for trout either.
Great picture of that trout. Where state, other than South Dakota, did you catch it in?
(Betty, I won’t tell if you won’t.)

I suppose it wouldn’t help to say “I forgot”? If the fish in the picture was actually caught in South Dakota, and released there, it would be in Little Spearfish canyon. On a blue and snipe spider (North Country).

“If … it would be in Little Spearfish canyon”
Well, then I must ask (well, not really) - but was that before or after the pie (apple - with vanilla ice cream) ?
darrell,
darrell,
We were totally crushed to find the cafe at Cheyenne Crossing closed! Someone had just purchased it, and they were totally remodeling it. It should be reopened by now (they were hoping to have it ready by Memorial weekend). Sure hope it doesn’t change the “ambiance”.

Closed … remodelling … ! ! !
How’s a person to fish without …
Well … I guess I’ll now have to go down to Wyoming, Utah, or someplace (where there’s trout) and check the new place out. Although I really don’t see what needed remodelling (this time I think we’ll go south on Spearfish Canyon Hwy … ) - ROAD TRIP !
thanks Betty
